COVID 19 Update

Posted on March 30th, 2020 · Posted in General

Hello Miami Hills families,

I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy during this unprecedented pandemic we are experiencing.  I know you all probably have a lot of questions regarding how this Covid-19 virus and all the restrictions we are currently under will effect the opening of the club this year as well as how dues/payments could be effected if we do have to delay the opening of the club.  The board and I met last week to talk about everything and below is a copy of the letter that you will be receiving with your dues invoice in the mail next week.  I wanted to get it out to you via email now in order to help answer some of your questions.

To answer your main question, YES, we plan on opening the club as scheduled on Saturday May 23rd.  My staff and I will be getting everything up and running as best we can.  We will be following all government implemented guidelines and restrictions, but if and when we get the all clear to open the doors, our pool and facility and will be ready to go.  If there is a delay in opening the club, the board and I will talk about how we will handle things regarding our summer season, fees, and programs.
Please read the following letter from our club president, Paul Todys.  We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we all navigate this new world we are living in.

Stay safe, healthy and happy!  I can’t wait to see everyone very soon.

Dear Miami Hill Swim & Tennis Club Family:

As of the date of this dues mailing {March 31, 2020}, Miami Hills Swim and Tennis Club is actively planning and preparing to open for the season on the regularly scheduled date of May 23rd, 2020.  Unfortunately, there is a high degree of uncertainty as to whether we will be allowed to open on time due to various forced closures and social distancing being used to combat the COVID-19 virus.  Our opening day will be dependent upon governmental guidance closer to that date, and we will update you with any such news as soon as it comes available. Because we must plan as if Miami Hills can stay open the entire season, at this point in time we need to prepare payroll, training, and operating expenses as such. That means that we have no choice but to collect dues as we always have (i.e. dues need to be paid in full by May 01, resignations should be communicated asap but postmarked no later than May 02, and membership and bond may be revoked if unpaid by May 15).  We have made payment processing fast and easy with an online link within the dues email– please check it out.

Our Board of Directors, management and staff is fully committed to your health and well-being, and we will be sharing regular communication with you as it becomes known.  If we find ourselves in the unfortunate situation of closing, we will evaluate what is necessary to maintain our club and care for our members, alike. We all look forward to putting this crazy pandemic behind us and being able to kick back and relax with you at our beautiful club in the very near future.

Sincerely,

Paul Todys
President, MHS&TC Board of Directors
